Flip or Flop Real Estate Show
As Flip or Flop Show comes to an end, hosts Tarek and Christina El Moussa are more popular than ever. By now everyone knows they’re getting a divorce and as a result, HGTV pulled the plug on their hugely popular real estate show. How can HGTV possibly replace Tarek and Christina on one of their most popular shows? By replacing the famous couple with five new Real Estate Shows using the Flip or Flop Brand. Talk about the ultimate compliment.
My question is, will Tarek and Christina financially benefit from the five Flip or Flop spinoffs using their branded name? According to Flip or Flop’s wiki page, it was their original idea for the new real estate show. Even if the El Moussa’s accumulated a net worth over $3 million, (before the divorce) HGTV is taking advantage of the hugely popular Flip or Flop Brand.
In 2011, Tarek asked a friend to help him make an audition tape for HGTV. The friend filmed an entire episode of the process of house flipping from start to finish. The audition tape was sent to HGTV, and they were interested in talking to the couple. In 2012, HGTV signed the couple to a regular weekly program that shows the process of buying distressed property and renovating it.
How’s Tarek and Christina El Moussa Doing After Divorce?
By all accounts, Tarek and Christina are doing just fine after the divorce and the cancellation of the original Flip or Flop Show. It’s also good to hear the El Moussa’s reached an agreement about their two children sharing equal custody with both parents.
Since her divorce from Tarek El Moussa captivated headlines earlier this year, Christina has done her part to ensure that despite their reportedly volatile relationship, she’s focused on a much brighter future ahead. “Tarek and I are in a very good place right now,” she told E! News’ Carissa Culiner in mid-March. “We’re doing a really good job. We share the kids 50/50 and our communication is great.”
The Flip or Flop star stepped out Sunday evening to cheer on the Anaheim Ducks where she was celebrating her best gal pal’s birthday. El Moussa posted on Instagram with a stunning selfie of the duo, proclaiming her love for the team. “I feel like if we had better communication, we would have had a better relationship,” he said. “I think as time went on, as you get busier and busier. It was like overnight, businesses, TV, all these things happened overnight, then cancer, and the back surgery. It just kind of started pushing us apart from each other.”
The El Moussas are filming another season of Flip or Flop while in the midst of their divorce proceedings, but the future of the show is in doubt after that. “Flip or Flop: Divorced” Series Coming Soon?
Would you watch a new series of Flip or Flop after the El Moussa’s are divorced? Personally, I think that’s an excellent idea. If for anything else, talk about built-in drama to spice their new Flip or Flop series up. A little friendly competition between e-partners is always entertaining to watch. It’s just an idea, but hope it’s not the last time Tarek and Christina star on a Real Estate Show.
